How to Select a Belt for an Eddy Current Separator
Selecting the wrong belt can directly lead to reduced efficiency, frequent malfunctions, and even damage to the core components of an eddy current separator (Eddy Current Separator).
When selecting a belt for an eddy current separator, one must not only consider the dimensions but also comprehensively evaluate the following core factors.
Core Principle: It is not an ordinary belt; it must be professionally matched.
1. First, confirm three critical specifications (must be consistent)
Dimensions: Precisely measure the inner circumference and width of the old belt.
Thickness: Must match the original manufacturer’s specifications; otherwise, it will affect magnetic field efficiency.
Joints: Confirm whether the joints are seamless or overlapped, etc.
2. Then select based on material characteristics
For general materials (e.g., plastic bottles, aluminum cans): Standard wear-resistant, ozone-resistant rubber is sufficient.
For abrasive materials (e.g., electronic waste, broken glass): Must select aramid (Kevlar) core belts with thickened wear-resistant rubber cover layers.
3. Key point: Must be non-magnetic
The belt must not contain any metallic materials. When purchasing, it is essential to request a “Non-Magnetic Certificate” from the supplier; otherwise, it may damage the equipment.
4. Supplier selection
If cost is not a concern and convenience is prioritized: Purchase directly from the equipment manufacturer.
If cost-effectiveness and quality assurance are prioritized: Seek a professional third-party brand and provide all the aforementioned parameters and requirements (especially the Non-Magnetic Certificate).
