Laser Cutter Felt Conveyor Belts: Comprehensive Guide and Professional Selection Tips

Felt conveyor belts are specialized transmission belts designed for laser cutting/engraving machines. They primarily carry and transport sheet materials (such as acrylic, wood, leather, paper, fabric, etc.) for precise processing.

Selecting the appropriate conveyor belt is the first step to ensuring smooth equipment operation. Be sure to verify the following key parameters:

Belt Width: This is the most critical dimension. It must precisely match your laser machine’s working platform width. Common specifications include 12 inches, 18 inches, 24 inches, 32 inches, etc. Measure the width of your old belt directly or consult your equipment manual.

Model & Brand: Identify your laser machine’s brand and model (e.g., Universal Laser Systems, Muse, Rayu). Many belts are designed for specific machine types.

Material & Thickness: Select high-density, heat-resistant aramid fiber felt belts, typically around 3mm thick. This provides extended lifespan and superior adhesion.

When Should You Replace the Conveyor Belt?

Inspect and replace your felt belt promptly if any of the following occur:

Severe Surface Burn: Covered in black spots and pits from laser scorching.

Laser Perforation: Visible cut marks or cracks on the belt surface.

Stretch deformation: Belt elongation or slackening causing slippage or inaccurate feeding.

Reduced adhesion: Inability to securely hold materials, leading to shifting during engraving.

Misalignment: Belt consistently drifts off-center on the roller.
