A manure belt, as the name suggests, is a belt-type manure removal system. It typically consists of a drive unit, tensioning device, high-strength synthetic fiber or rubber belt, and a control system. Its operating principle involves laying the belt beneath poultry cages or slatted floors. An electric motor drives rollers, causing the belt to move slowly. This conveys animal manure that falls onto the belt surface to the barn exterior or designated collection points, enabling automatic and continuous manure removal.
Main Types
Multi-Tiered Manure Removal Belt
Application: Primarily used in multi-tiered laying hen houses and broiler-layer housing systems. One belt is installed beneath each tier of cages.
Features:
Typically made from polyester (PET) or polypropylene (PP) materials, offering high strength, corrosion resistance, and tensile durability.
The belt surface features dense perforations or specialized weaving to facilitate urine and moisture drainage, reducing manure moisture content for easier subsequent processing.
Each level’s manure belt operates independently, conveying manure separately to the horizontal collection belt or manure chute at the shed’s rear.
Scraper-Type Manure Removal Belt/Plate
Application: Primarily used beneath slatted floors in swine operations or as a horizontal manure collection belt in poultry houses.
Features:
This “belt” functions more like a scraper chain system. It combines high-strength engineering plastic or stainless steel scrapers with a chain.
It operates in a reciprocating or unidirectional manner within the manure trench of pig barns, scraping accumulated manure toward the barn exit.
When used as a horizontal manure collection belt in poultry houses, it receives manure falling from vertical manure belts on each level and uniformly conveys it to manure storage tanks or transport vehicles.
